Analogue FTA (free to air) TO be PHASED OUT BY JULY 2013!

Analogue transmission will be terminated in the last 1/2 of 2013 in the Melbourne Metro area, the standard for reception after that date will be only digital (COFDM) to receiving commercial (FTA) TV. It is NOW important, to consider digital compatibility when purchasing new television reception infrastructure or when upgrading an existing system. Currently the only station not transmitting in digital is CH31 Community TV, this station will be operating in digital soon also, although a date has not been supplied as yet to its commencment.

We strongly recommend that any new installation be fully digitally compatible for future trouble free Television reception, and avoidance of potential additional costs.

It is also in some cases possible to make your existing antenna system digital compatible for a reasonable cost, in most instances.

Currently only 25% of televisions being sold in Australia are still incorporating the analogue tuner in there equipment, soon to be phased out completely. Therefore these TV's/screens require a digital set-top decoder incorporated into the reception system to receive the additional services and digital picture formats.

However most manufacturers are now incorporating digital decoders into their LCD/LED or plasma screens. If you are keeping your analogue TV you will require a digital decoder and sufficent reciving equipment to get all the FTA channels available.

Substantial, quality improvments and a min 5 additionl channels are NOW available on the digital format!
